Maria Cristina Bravi, born and resident in the town of L’Aquila, a piano degree at the Conservatory, a degree of Textile operator by Abruzzo Region, is ever since fond of traditional aquilan lace.

She took part in many national and international exhibits: to be mentioned, in particular, the Handicraft Exhibit to Castello Spagnolo, L'Aquila (1986, 1987, 1988); Sansepolcro International Lace Biennial (since 1988); Cantù Lace Biennial (1995). 
Together with her friend Simona Iannini took part in writing a book devoted to Aquilan lace and participated also to a number of national tv shows.
She was also President of AMI (Italian Lacemakers Association) until 1999; currently she is Secretary and responsible for Abruzzo region. 
She teaches bobbin lace, at different levels, since 1995. In the same year, together with Simona Iannini, she opened a laboratory called "Le Mani d’Oro" (golden hands), with the aim of recovering, studying, teaching and promoting traditional Aquilan lace.

In 2004 she took part to the national lace competition "A Handkerchief for Genevieve", and gained the 2nd prize.
In 2005 she took part, with her stand, to the annual lace and embroidery show in Valtopina.
