Micaela Di Felice Roma (RM) Micaela Di Felice fell in love for bobbin lace when she was 11, looking at her cousin. A friend of her mother from Isernia (a town famous for lace tradition) taught her the basic points and since then she stopped making embroidery, tricot and crochet to devote herself to the art of lace. In her own words, "I was more and more enthusiast day by day, looking at those patterns flourishing under my hands...". She learnt by herself, using some well known Italian books: "L'arte del ricamo - il Tombolo", by Association Ad Maiora, and "Sogni nelle mani" by Antonia Busi. She then got on with the annual specials by Mani di fata magazine, learning the technique of Cantù lace. She joined AMI (Association of Italian lacemakers) in 2002. Recently she started learning Punto Venezia, thanks to the video collection by Accademia Merletti De Amicis. She's also learning Torchon. She's also an Internet fan, as she thinks communicating can enlarge your fantasy and give new ideas for lace, for instance for the use of coloured or metallic threads. She thinks there are no limits to the art: that's the meaning of creativity.
