Back to Lace in Italy

Iolanda Ottavi
Offida (AP)

Iolanda Ottavi started learning the art of bobbin lace in her family, since she was very young; she's been learning more and more and now she likes working lace in new, modern, interesting ways: lace for fashion, for home, but most of all lace jewels. They are real jewels, in a mix of gold and lace in so many diffferent shape that conquered a great success not only in Italy but also abroad: Australia, Argentina, Brasil...
She took part with her creations to many TV programs and appeared on the most important Italian lace and embroidery magazines. One of her pieces, a butterfly, was given as a prize to well known Italian singer Gianfranco Fasano in Offidan song competition for children "A Golden Butterfly".

She's a member of Association Italia Invita, as well of many others. She's been participating with her works to many lace shows and competitions, in Italy and abroad, as well as to many lace stages and workshops.
She's getting on teaching lace in her town, Offida, and in Ascoli Piceno.
