Maria Cristina Brunello, venetian from generations, is very fond of the culture and the traditions of her city and in particular she's been devoting hersef to Burano needle lace. She learnt it from an old Burano lace teacher and she's been teaching it for years. Her beautiful works were shown in many exhibits in Italy and abroad and published on the main lace and embroidery magazines. In her opinion, they are a way to show how the original tradition of the Repubblica Serenissima are still alive. Recently she founded a cultural association, "Venezia Merletti", devoted to the spread of lace culture and techniques.
